New European General Manager Appointed

Martin Lomberg, European General ManagerSouthwest Microwave has appointed a new European General Manager, Martin Lomberg. Martin joined Southwest Microwave in early 2008 after a twenty-year career with multinational engineering control systems group, IMI Norgren. Based at the company’s UK Headquarters in Worcestershire, Martin will assume management of European branch operations and oversee sales and business development activities in Europe, Russia and various CIS countries in Central Asia.

Martin brings longstanding global engineering and customized solutions experience to Southwest Microwave. During his tenure with Norgren, Martin’s focus was on driving sustainable sales growth in the Industrial and Government sectors through engineering advantage, strategy deployment and key account development. He served a two-year assignment in China as Vice President, Strategic Sectors, where he was responsible for business restructure in the region, including the establishment of strategic direction, business plan formulation and management of key account teams.

Martin’s background in mechanical engineering, success in strategic sector expansion and extensive market experience in Europe, Asia and the Americas position him for leadership of Southwest Microwave’s European Group and further penetration of the company’s industry-leading perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS) across Europe.

Martin succeeds Tony Backx, who retired as European GM in April.
